A Small Change can help “Make Your Fundraising Efforts GoViral. Non-profits of all sizes
can use the same tactics to make their fundraising campaigns spread from person to person and group to group,” like bolts of lightning spreading your brand or message with each strike.
The first thing your blog must do is EMBRACE visitors with the relevant information they are looking for when they browsed the World Wide Web to find your blog.
Second, your blog must share the expertise it was created to convey. Sharing expertise can be accomplished with news portals, studies, opinions, events, links, photos, music and videos through a cross-section of blogs, websites, social media and webnars that your site was created to convey.

Technology: Key To Nonprofit Survival
Nonprofits, particularly those small organizations, that have hung on while support for their missions dwindled to almost nothing since the needs of children and families in crises escalated with the devastation of the 2005 Indonesian Tsunami; followed by Katrina, several other hurricanes and storms, and the worst economic recession in decades. To survive, these organizations must tie their futures to technology that allows them to appeal to new bases of supporters from across the country and around the world. What technology do nonprofits need to implement to create a viable future? read more…
Nonprofits or anyone interested in a successful online presence must know that visitors to their websites decide in 4-8 seconds if they will stay or go. PC Magazine’s article Performance suggested we actually have only 4 seconds to grab a visitor’s attention before they decide to leave or stay.
So what does this all mean? It means plan to share something compelling enough to make a visitor want to learn more about what you offer in 4 seconds. Once your page loads and comes into view for a visitor, you have 4 seconds to convince your visitor to stay and learn more about what you do.
Your compelling story should indicate that you have the answer to the problem they clicked on your site to find. In 4 seconds a visitor will determine whether your website provides the relevance that will lead to the solution they are seeking.
Natural disasters and the economic recession pushed many nonprofits so far back on the back burner that some, like W. W. Law Foundation, lost almost all financial support to the extreme needs of families and children in crises. To help continue its mission to save American history like that amassed by its name sake, civil rights activist, educator and historic preservationist Westley Wallace Law, NonprofitPal identified the following resources for nonprofits to use to appeal to a new base of supporters.

My post Tweeting for Alltop’s Blog World Expo Pass announced that CuriosityDiva, my personal Twitter account, was my entry in an Alltop contest to win a free pass and hotel accommodations for NonprofitPal to attend Blog World’s October Expo. My strategy in using CuriosityDiva is that it has over 1000 followers. Only 3 days are left for family, friends and followers to click my link http://my.alltop.com/curiositydiva to retweet my Alltop page to help me establish a presence for NonprofitPal at BlogWorld’s Expo.
Retweeting the link to my easily accessible Alltop page full of informative topics will not only help me win the contest but also provides a means for sharing how NonprofitPal resources for nonprofits have increased in pursuit of Blog World Expo.
- Information amassed under the heading Nonprofit at Alltop would take months of research to identify a fraction of the topics included.
- Compiling an Alltop page makes it easier to blog about more relevant and informative content at NonprofitPal.
- Topics in Alltop magazine racks are updated with the latest posts every hour.
- After retweeting my page. Create your own Alltop magazine rack of your favorite topics.
Like many nonprofits, NonprofitPal, does not have a training budget. After receiving tweet about Alltop’s tweet contest, where one of the prizes is free admission with hotel to Blog World’s October Expo, I had an out of the box thought. Enter the contest and win. Winning will be a challenge. But if I won I would get training while testing my blogged suggestions at http://nonprofitpal.com about the power of social media to help increase brand awareness, raise funds, meet goals, advance missions and increase NonprofitPal Twitter followers.
YouTube NonProfit Contribution
YouTube is encouraging all U. S. based nonprofits with IRS 501(c)(3) tax status to apply for their Nonprofit Program. If your organization has a “compelling story to tell, and want to connect with supporters, volunteers and donors but don’t have funds to launch an expensive outreach campaign.” YouTube is donating channels for nonprofits to brand, promote and raise funds for your nonprofit organizations free.
Nonprofit organizations that clearly express who they are and what they do in a manner that appeal to what giving means for donors will benefit from their branding effort. Donors, like volunteers, fulfill their need for personal significance by supporting organizations with missions that make them feel good and give them joy for supporting and being associated with changing the world in ways that matter to them.
Begin building your organization‘s strong brand with the following five steps.
- Convey your brand perception in an enlightening narrative that make your organization’s mission obvious. Use defining moments to connect your most important goals and activities to donor dreams. read more…
