Embrace Your Technology Future

Technology: Key To Nonprofit Survival
Nonprofits, particularly those small organizations, that have hung on while support for their missions dwindled to almost nothing since the needs of children and families in crises escalated with the devastation of the 2005 Indonesian Tsunami; followed by Katrina, several other hurricanes and storms, and the worst economic recession in decades. To survive, these organizations must tie their futures to technology that allows them to appeal to new bases of supporters from across the country and around the world. What technology do nonprofits need to implement to create a viable future?
- Open Source for one: This ‘Free Software’ is the means through which programs like WordPress was created.
- WordPress software is created by a community of developers, designers and trainers for free public use. Organizations that do not have funds to hire a webmaster or consultant can create an online presence for their nonprofit organizations free. This of course requires users to learn how to install and operate the software.
- WordPress with it’s incredibly community of developers, designers, forums, word camps and users provide support to encourage more use of this software.
Interesting article. Does this apply to churches as well?
Is this a WordPress site?
Many nonprofits desperately need to use technology more. This seems too difficult a task for nonprofits with no experience with installing their own technology to accomplish.
Yes, it is a WP site.
Yes, it does apply to churches as well.

Thank you for your comments. No, my blog is not my hobby. It is part of my consulting service. I blog to provide free resources for nonprofit organizations and to help them find free information. In addition, I am a consultant who provide services for nonprofit organization at a fee if the organization does not wish to put in the time to learn how to implement and manage the information technology they need.
One of my friends already told me about this place and I do not regret that I found this article.
